# Archive, restore or deliberately delete

> Use recoverable cleanup for everyday organization.

Canonical: https://ownpost.fyi/docs/guides/archive

## Before you begin

A saved post or Idea.

## Steps

1. In a post's actions menu choose Archive post. Use Undo in the confirmation toast for an accidental archive.

2. In Content, choose the Archived status filter to see archived posts. Choose Restore on its row or Restore post in the actions menu to bring one back.

3. For Ideas sources, use their Archive and Restore controls. Saving a source as a draft keeps the Idea available for reuse.

4. On an archived post, choose Delete permanently and read the confirmation about its writing, media and history. Confirm only if you intend an irreversible deletion.

## A practical example

Archive outdated launch drafts to clear active work, then restore one from Archived if you want to reuse it. A published X post remains on X regardless of the local archive state.

## Check the result

Active collections stay useful while historical content remains recoverable until deliberate deletion.

## Troubleshooting

Archiving or deleting a local workspace record does not delete its X publication. Active or uncertain delivery can restrict changes until its outcome is resolved.
