# Write and save your first post

## Before you begin

A signed-in workspace.

## Steps

1. Choose Write, or Content → New post. Type into Your post.

2. Watch the character counter and save status. Each post needs text, including posts with attachments. Valid writing saves after a short pause; wait for Saved to workspace before assuming it reached the workspace.

3. Choose a Category if useful. Open More details (optional) for a private Working title and comma-separated Tags. The working title is not sent to X.

4. Choose Emoji under the intended post and search by name or a word such as happy, heart or rocket. Selecting an emoji inserts it at the cursor or replaces selected text, then returns focus to your writing. It counts toward the character limit and saves with the text.

5. Use Add media for photos, a GIF or a video, and Preview to review the writing and attachments. Finish every thread part before expecting a valid save.

6. Choose Done to close, Remind me for a manual reminder, or Post now when the content is ready. With API publishing enabled, Schedule offers both manual reminders and automatic delivery.

## Example request

Share one concrete change from your work. For example, announce a CSV export and explain what it helps people do. Give the draft a private title such as CSV export launch so you can find it later.

## Check the result

Your draft appears in Content and reopens with its saved text.

## Troubleshooting

A save error retains your edits. Use Try saving again after reconnecting. If a newer version exists, use the conflict recovery choices instead of overwriting it.
