Get started with OwnPost

Before you start#

OwnPost is your workspace for ideas, posts, threads, blogs and results. To set up your own copy, have repository access, a hosting account and an authenticator app ready. Local setup uses Node.js 22.18 or newer and pnpm 11.

Set up your workspace#

Run OwnPost locally or deploy it to your host. Complete owner setup, save your recovery codes and set your timezone. If your workspace is already running, continue with your first post.

Write and publish your first post#

   Open Write, add one useful observation and wait for Saved to workspace.

   Review the draft, choose Prepare to post and publish manually on X.

   Return to OwnPost and record the publication time and link.

Try your assistant#

For writing help, install OwnPost in Codex or Claude Code and connect your workspace. Choose your client's tab in the setup guide, then try this request.

Use the ownpost skill to write one short X post in my saved style. Save it as a draft for review.

Notes: We added CSV export today. It exports filtered results and preserves column order.

Write a longer story or find a useful prompt#

Start a blog from Ideas, a Post or Thread, imported writing, a template or a blank page. Write with images and embeds, save a checkpoint, and prepare separate X Article, Medium, Substack, LinkedIn or website editions for manual publication.

Open Prompts → All prompts from the workspace header to search categorized requests, save favorites and copy a prompt for your connected assistant. Review its placeholders and selected account before running it.

Choose your next step#

Plan a reminder, record a post's results or build a writing routine. Automatic publishing needs a connected X account and your approval of the saved content and destination.
