OwnPost is a private, single-owner workspace for preparing X posts and threads, managing multiple X account profiles, planning when to share, saving inspiration, preparing replies, and recording results.
The kit includes the application source and a private MCP server. You deploy your own copy, keep your data in your own accounts, and connect the AI assistant you already use.
What you’ll need
- Access to the purchased kit and a GitHub account for your private copy.
- Node.js 22.18 or newer and pnpm 11 for the kit.
- Your choice of Cloudflare, Vercel, Netlify, or a VPS. Node hosts use a libSQL database and private S3-compatible storage; Cloudflare uses D1 and R2.
- A compatible HTTP MCP client and your own AI plan, if you want assistant features.
- An authenticator app for the workspace owner’s login.

Deployment help aims for $0 hosting where your use fits the provider's free plan, or a low-cost option when it does not. We review the fit with you; free hosting is a target, not a guaranteed ongoing allowance.
Complete the initial deployment, owner setup, and the connections you want, then use your own workspace for day-to-day writing. The kit payment is one time; hosting, AI usage, and optional X API costs follow your providers' terms. Keep your installation updated and backed up as you use it.
Your first session
- Finish owner setup and save your recovery codes.
- Capture one idea and turn it into a draft.
- Connect your MCP client and ask it to read your workspace.
- Save your writing preferences. Try: ‘Help me set up my posting preferences. Ask one question at a time.’

Plan with your Posting Slots
Set your timezone and preferred Posting Slots in Settings → Posting routine. Next available time finds an unoccupied future time within today and the following 21 calendar days. Select a specific calendar day to plan further ahead.
Batch planning looks for free preferred times over 60 calendar days. Review the proposed times before applying them. A preview does not reserve a time; if another post takes it, refresh the preview for the affected items.
Time choices use your workspace timezone. Missing daylight-saving times are skipped. When a clock time occurs twice, both occurrences are considered; selected-day choices label the first and second occurrence so you can distinguish them.
Planning a time creates a manual reminder unless you separately approve API publication. A preferred Posting Slot alone does not schedule or publish a draft.
Record results after publication
Record Metric Snapshots only for a Post or Thread marked Published in the workspace. If you published manually on X, record that publication first, then choose Record results on the exact post.
Enter the measurements you can see and their measurement time, or use your connected MCP assistant to help with a performance screenshot. Leave unavailable measurements blank; enter zero only when the measured result is zero. Add a later snapshot to keep the earlier measurements in history.
If a screenshot could match more than one post, choose the correct post before saving measurements.
