Manage assistant keys and permissions
Use named, revocable connections with only the needed scope.
On this page
Before you begin
Settings → Connections.
Steps
Open Settings → Connections → AI writing → AI assistant and select a client other than ChatGPT to view and manage all saved connections. Choose Create agent connection for the first client, or Add another connection for another client.
Enter a distinct Connection name for each client or worker. Choose Full workspace tools or Assistant preparation only under Access for a new connection, then choose Create connection.
Copy connection details into your client's HTTP MCP connection and choose I saved these details. The token is displayed only once.
Allow this new connection to publish approved work is a separate permission. Existing keys have Allow approved publication and Remove publication access controls. Publication still needs the approval stored in the workspace.
Choose Refresh status after the agent reads the workspace. Review Last used, then choose Disconnect and confirm for any key you no longer need. Replace an exposed key and update the affected client.
A practical example
Give a scheduled preparation worker its own named preparation-only connection. Use a separate full-access connection for interactive drafting so you can revoke either client independently.
Check the result
Each external client has identifiable access and can be disconnected without changing your owner password.
Troubleshooting
A lost token cannot be shown again; create a replacement. Access used and a last-used timestamp prove previous access, not a currently running schedule. Disconnecting a key leaves your content in place.
