Configure preferences through a conversation
Let your connected assistant explain each preference and ask one question at a time.
On this page
Before you begin
A working ChatGPT, Codex, Claude Code, Cursor or compatible MCP connection with Full workspace tools access. An Assistant preparation only key cannot change workspace settings. You can also configure the same preferences directly in the website.
Steps
In your connected client, say: Set up my OwnPost posting preferences. Ask me one question at a time.
The assistant reads your existing preferences with get_personal_setup. Start with your timezone, posting days and preferred times so planning uses your local routine.
Say skip for questions you do not want to answer; skipping keeps the current value.
Choose whether reminders should notify you and set any sleep hours. Sleep hours mute Telegram delivery during that window; they do not move planned post times.
Review the proposed values before asking the assistant to save the answered sections with save_personal_setup. Check Settings → Posting routine, Assistant → Personal preferences and the notification settings to confirm the result.
Revisit the conversation whenever your goals change, or edit any section in the website. Connect Telegram and create recurring routines separately if you want them. This setup does not publish posts, start an external runner or replace your approved writing style.
Example request
Answer the timezone and audience questions, then skip a section you want to handle later. Verify that only the supplied answers changed in Settings and Personal preferences.
Check the result
Your chosen preferences are saved and visible in the website; skipped sections retain their previous values.
Troubleshooting
If the assistant cannot access setup tools, verify a real connection and its Full workspace tools access. If another session changed a setting, reload its current value before saving. You can complete all preferences directly in the website even without an AI connection.
